SÉRGIOPINTO®

Landscape Architect

Sérgio Pinto graduated in Landscape Architecture in the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 2008. In the last year of his course he and his classmates traveled to Holland to participate in the International Triennial Apeldoorn (Culture, Gardens and Landscape) an experience that allowed him to interact with other students, landscape architects, architects, designers and researchers.

In 2009 he created his own studio, SÉRGIOPINTO® landscape architecture & urban design, creating projects from a smaller scale like a residential garden to a larger scale like an urban park. In 2009 the “Marco Urban Park” project gave him the Vibeiras/Jornal Arquitecturas Young Landscape Architect Award – Iberoamerican edition. In that same year he began to collaborate with Prof. Laura Costa/Lrc landscape architecture (2009-2016) within the scope of her PhD. At the same time, he made and coordinated projects at multiple scales, both nationally and internationally. He participated in projects of school spaces, urban parks, projects of recovery and landscape integration, recovery of landfills, planning, gardens of companies and private gardens. As a result of this partnership he won the National Landscape Architecture Awards in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In October 2012 the Agros Business Park was exhibited in the 7th Barcelona Biennial in the framework of the Rosa Barba European Prize, where he developed the graphic elements.

The relationship with the University and research has always been present in his professional and academic career, carrying out training and conferences at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro.

In 2013, he completed his Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture in the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, investigating for two years methodologies for urban parks design. The Fresh Kills Park in Staten Island, New York, designed by the landscape architect James Corner of the American studio FieldOperations was the case study.

Sérgio Pinto consolidated experience comes from almost 10 years in creating and coordinating studies and projects for private and public spaces: from conception plans to execution details and construction management.
