This project results from the need to create a Park dedicated to the use, appreciation and interaction in the public green space.
The ecological valences of this space, whose river, fauna and flora characterize this strongly authentic landscape, founded the recovery, requalification and use of this part of territory.
The river potential has been weakening over the years, subsisting only in memories. Along the river there are water mills and in parallel lands that were once agricultural, nowadays we have vegetation in its "Climax" state. The intimate relation of the population with the river was lost. All this genetic information was the basis of the whole conception process, where the populations have an essential role in reactivating these synergies.
The river is a conducting element of multiple processes, so it was considered important to go further with this intervention along the river up to the point where requalification was necessary.
The design tries to integrate the old water mills - through its rehabilitation - a degraded housing pole - reconstructed - a polluted and unknown river – which has been cleaned and environmentally controlled - an aqueduct - cleaned and repaired.
Along the river there is a railway line that works as a gateway to the city, with some touristic relevance, so it was planned to connect with the remaining spaces by creating pedestrian crossings between them.
Taking into account the current constraints on the consumption of energy resources, wind turbines and photovoltaic panels were thought to produce all the necessary energy for the Park, to show people that energy can come from energy, like all living systems.
Maize and rye crops have been tough to support the rehabilitation of the mills and create pedestrian paths for showing the cultural and landscape value of these land.
